Agnihotri was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is the son of Gyandev Agnihotri, a screenwriter who wrote the scripts for popular Hindi movies such as Avishkaar, Griha Pravesh, Mr. Natwarlal, Yaarana, Sindoor, Teri Kasam, and Beta. He completed his schooling at Sheiling House, Kanpur, and graduated from college in Mumbai. In 2004, he married television actress Shilpa Saklani.

Career

Agnihotri made his Bollywood debut with ‘Pardes’ starring Shahrukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhary as lead stars. It was directed by Subhash Ghai. The film became an instant hit and garnered positive reviews. And the actor was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor in Zee Cine Awards.

He rose to prominence after he was offered the lead role in the Indian television serial Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. The television serial became successful and his performance was truly appreciated. His performance as Armaan Suri led him to win the Indian Telly Awards Best Actor Award for 2005.

Apart from acting in TV serials and Indian movies, he also took part in some reality TV shows including ‘Big Boss-7’ with his wife Shilpa Saklani.
